Domestic Battery Charge Dismissed and Expunged In Cook County

Published: May 26, 2016, by admin in Assault & Battery, Criminal Defense

O’Meara Law LLC understands that accusations involving domestic violence are very distressing. It was no different for a man in Cook County, IL charged with domestic battery, who was seriously concerned with spending time in jail and having a criminal record. With the seriousness of the charge against him, he required equally serious legal representation and came upon criminal defense attorney Michael O’Meara.

During his consultation, he presented all of his fears to attorney O’Meara, who began working diligently to alleviate his client’s worries. After negotiating with the prosecution, attorney O’Meara effectively achieved a dismissal of the domestic battery charge. Furthermore, O’Meara filed a petition before the court to completely expunge the charge from his client’s record. The prosecution initially objected to this petition; however, after supporting arguments were presented to the Judge, the expungement was granted which resulted in the removal of the incident from his client’s record.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
